Judge Of God

Like a chip off the old block, Samson’s mighty son Branan uses unusual weapons-such as melons and tree trunks-to deal with the Philistines in The Judge of God, book 1 of the Son of Samson series. Looking for information about his father, Branan finds his grandfather Manoah, who tells him how God set Samson apart for a special purpose before he was born. When Branan questions his father’s poor choices as an adult, the old man teaches him a lesson about God’s grace. Then Manoah points him toward Ramath Lehi, the place where Samson slew a thousand Philistines with a donkey’s jawbone. Branan’s exploits sometimes mirror Samson’s in strange, hilarious ways as he traces his footsteps, seeking to understand his father-and himself. Meanwhile, the leader of the Philistines, Lord Pathrus, has determined that this new hero of the Hebrews, who seems too much like his old enemy, must be eliminated.
