Discovering and Developing Your Spiritual Gifts This book is Part 1 of a two-part series on the spiritual gifts. It covers the ascension gifts of Christ (Eph. 4:7-8, 11), also called the five-fold ministry, and the functional gifts of God (Rom. 12:3-8). These gifts are bestowed by God’s grace and through the Holy Spirit (Gal. 3:26-29). The ascension gifts-apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher- are the leadership offices of the Church and are given by the ascended Christ to lead the Church. The functional gifts of God-prophecy, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, managing, and mercy-are the seven fundamental ways in which we function in the body of Christ in ministering the Word of God and doing service. The purpose of this book is to help you better understand these gifts; discover, stir up, and develop your gifts; receive another gift; become more anointed in your ministry; and fulfill your destiny in God.
