Quietly Waiting : A Novel

For Paul and Susan Maniford, life in Blue Hills, Texas, has never been dull. Still, they are surprised when “Hobo Steve” mysteriously disappeared, shows up on their doorstep with his son, needing a place to live. Soon after that, Judy, a widow with haunting memories, moves back to town. Although Steve and Judy are both recovering from past hurts and desire to live uprightly, their budding friendship may cause them to struggle to remain faithful to the commitments they’ve already made. Then young Chrissie, who is unexpectedly pregnant, comes to town in desperate need of tender love. Her situation presents the church family with a new challenge: someone must help Chrissie make good decisions for herself and her fatherless, unborn child. Over time, Paul and Susan must learn that even though you may not understand God’s plans, He is always faithful. As they and their friends strive to share God’s truths with those in need, will past hardships and current desires rob them of their reputations and faith?
