he Mountie’s Girl begins at the moment of the heroine’s birth and details her life over twenty-four years. For several years Lorie and her family lived in RCMP detachment homes, her father being an RCMP officer. Their living conditions in these unique situations influenced her early years. Her parents and teachers recognized her special and natural artistic gifts. With encouragement she went on to study art and then architecture at university. There were many highs and lows as she grew up into a beautiful young woman.
