The story of Al Worthington takes the reader through valley and mountaintop experiences. The Nashville Vols signed him into professional baseball. His beginning in the Major Leagues caused quite a stir when his first two pitching assignments against Philadelphia and Brooklyn resulted in shutouts of 6-0, setting a modern-day pitching record for the National League. His life was miraculously changed in 1958 when he and Shirley accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. He ended his baseball career with the Minnesota Twins and then coached baseball at Liberty University.
