Five years away from mandatory retirement in the United Covenant Churches of America, Bob Buck’s 40 year career in the ministry has been tarnished and he has been sentenced to serve his remaining time in a washed up old country church. Bitter about his new appointment, Buck has decided not to let his career end this way and he will use everything in his power, including God, to prove his worth and gain a position of power like in the secular world. His goal is to transform the tiny country church into one of the modern day “mega” churches…large enough to provide stiff competition for the neighboring, 9,000 member Spring Rock Church lead by the young and dynamic Uriah Jonah. Unfortunately, Buck has a habit of making bad decisions, the worst of which is hiring a young associate pastor who actually believes a minister is supposed to serve God and who is a threat to Buck’s plan. Just as all of the pieces are seemingly coming together, Buck’s past and present collide and everything begins to unravel when he learns a truth about the young associate pastor that rocks his world.
