Juliette D’Alisa decides to look for love online after the death of her grandmother. Tucked inside one of her grandmother’s cookbooks, she discovers an antique photograph of a man who looks strikingly like her brother. The discovery of the man in the photo leads her to a string of mysteries, with a great-aunt’s memories and letters left by her grandmother serving as the only clues. Juliette uncovers the evidence of a sweet romance as well as dark family secrets left dormant for over half a century. Juliette tries to keep her findings to herself, even as her brother pushes her to make a dramatic career change in order to open a restaurant with him. As Juliette’s personal life unravels, she clings to Neil McLaren, a Memphis-based immunologist. Together, Juliette and Neil piece together her grandmother Mireille’s story as they try to carve out a future for themselves.
