Shepherd And His Sheep

The inspired writings of the Apostle John are revealing of spiritual truth, devotional in character, warm in love, and challenging to any who would know the life eternal offered by God in Christ. Some have called John the mystery writer, not because he is hard to understand, but rather, because he is easily understood while deeply profound in relating spiritual verities. He puts truth on the surface, with always much more in the mine for the digger. The Bible is full of metaphors to help us in understanding its truths. These are examples taken from common experiences in our physical lives, and given to illustrate spiritual realities. Often we can perceive and relate to unseen things by such metaphors.
