When Quakers Flora Saferight and Bruce Millikan agree to work with the Underground Railroad they clash immediately. Then the lives of a pregnant slave and her husband are entrusted to them, and they reluctantly agree to put their differences aside.

Relying on their faith for courage, the two young couples embark on a journey which could, at any time, cost them everything. Traveling in a wagon with a secret compartment, and with only a quilt as a secret guide, they follow the stitched code from town to town, from one safe house to the next.

With freedom only days away, tragedy strikes calling into question everything they’d hoped for. Will the strength of their faith and love be enough to conquer the most important trial of their lives?
